Will be enjoyed for generations to come.
This volunteer run ferry service runs back and forth from Wivenhoe to Rowhedge with a stop at Fingringhoe by request between the months of April and October. Made from degraded wood, the old pontoon at Wivenhoe that is used to access the ferry service needed replacing at a considerable cost.
Now, thanks to the support of Dura Composites and others, a lovely new GRP pontoon has been installed, aiding aid accessibility for a wide range of passengers.
As a local business which is renowned for its expertise in both composites and the marine industry, Dura Composites was delighted to be able to offer our Dura Grating Mini Mesh in Light Grey to support this project.
The safe gritted grating has a 60-year design life and will be enjoyed for generations to come. Mixing work with pleasure, the Marine Team and their partners attended the official opening of the Wivenhoe ferry jetty and enjoyed a drink and some entertainment in the sunshine.
The team were passionate about ensuring this historic water crossing service could continue into the future.
