We’re excited to introduce our new Client Success Team. Between them, Ant, Dean, Matthew, Richard, Tony and Jack have a combined 80 years’ experience in composites, and they’ll be helping us to make sure that all of your infrastructure challenges benefit from our award-winning d² product range.
Today we’re talking with our Northern Client Success Manager, Richard Guy.
Our newest member of the Client Success Team, Richard, brings 15 years of GRP experience to the table.
Richard, you may be new to Dura, but you’re not new to the industry! Tell us about your previous experience with composites.
I started working in GRP 15 years ago and have worked for three different GRP-focused companies before joining Dura. My previous experience has largely been centred around the construction and industrial sectors, but I’ve been lucky enough to dip my fingers in many pies throughout my career, building a strong knowledge base across all our key industries.
What drew you towards a career with Dura?
Right off the bat, Dura’s growth rate stood out to me. The company is expanding at incredible rates, leading the way in the industry. I’m excited to be a part of it!
Of course, d² was a big incentive for me. There are plenty of GRP companies in the UK, but many don’t take the time to deeply understand their own products like Dura Composites do, and this shows in the quality. d² is a pioneering product line in the GRP space and is something I can really believe in. When your role centres around helping clients find the best solutions for their projects and challenges, having complete faith in your products is critical.
One of the initiatives of Dura’s that drew me in was the commitment to recycling and carbon reduction. In previous roles, I’ve seen green priorities become more of a focus across all industries, especially in utilities and construction. I want to be part of a company that really is making a difference for these companies, and the future of our planet.
You’ve joined at a great time, slotting right into our newly formed Client Success Team. What are your goals for the role?
My main goal, as I’m sure the other members of the team have mentioned, is to increase face-to-face interactions between us and our customers. Since the pandemic, people are so accustomed to phone calls and video chat that they’ve forgotten the importance of in-person interactions. I want to be the first point of contact for our clients, making myself available for any queries from start to finish of the process.
I’m not local to Dura HQ, I reside much further north. I hope my entrance to the Client Success Team will open new opportunities for northern clients, all the way from the M62 up to Scotland. Who knows, maybe we could even open a geographical base up north one day!
Outside of work I…
With my children now away at university, I’ve found myself with two new kids, but these ones have fur and four legs! I recently rescued two labradors, Ava and Max, a mother and baby. Now my evenings and weekends are taken up with long scenic country walks – I can’t complain about that!
